No Child Born To Die- Sign The Petition For More Health Workers

Today there are a number of parent bloggers attending the Save The Children blogging conference in London.Sadly I’m unable to attend but I can spread the word about what the Save The Children campaign ‘No Child Born To Die’ where they are campaigning to reduce the number children dying globally from preventable causes. The campaign wants EVERY child to have access to a health worker who can check the weight of each child, vaccinate and  support breastfeeding, talk about sanitation and hygiene to their mums.

Could you imagine not having any of these for YOUR child?

No, nor could I.It is a given that you get these are a natural progression of  health care after you have children but in 2011 there are STILL mothers who don’t have a health worker to make sure their child has a basic level of care that you and I take for granted.

So what can YOU do?

You can start by signing the petition to get David Cameron and other world leaders who are attending the UN summit in New York  tomorrow to put this urgent matter to the top of their agenda.

Christine from Thinly Spread who travelled to Mozambique with Save The Children earlier this year will  be there to report on the conference along with Josie of Sleep is for The Weak who went to Bangladesh last year seeing how Save The Children work with mothers there.

Now go and spread the word!

Blog about it, tweet the link to the petition, share on Facebook, Google + or even share my post.We need 60,000 signatures there are just over 41,000 so far.

You can help to get more health workers like  Dr Morou and help children like Djamilou.
