Hotel Chocolat Seriously Dark Wrap Egg Sandwich Review
Hotel Chocolat sent me a seriously dark wrap sandwich to review.
I like the originality behind the concept of having two halves of egg as a chocolate sandwich.The two chocolate shells sandwiched around chunky slabs of deep dark chocolate sprinkled with roasted coca nibs sprinkled on top look like two fried eggs when laid flat.The thickness of the chocolate is remarkable and I strained when breaking pieces off for my girls to try.Well, I had to get another opinion didn’t I? All you could hear from me and the girls were,
“Hmmmmm, this is good mummy!”.Kip doesn’t like dark chocolate.
Unlike regular chocolate eggs where the shell is thin and the chocolate melts quickly these chocolate shells had to be nibbled at (I eat my chocolate like a squirrel) which is a good thing as it doesn’t fall apart in your hands.
The taste was absolutely delicious but I did restrain myself to eat just one half.I placed the other half in the fridge to eat later that evening.But when I went to make myself a coffee a few hours later and went to get the milk from the fridge I thought,
“Who am I kidding?”
And I progressed to eat the other half and despite being on my own there were more sounds of delight and I even said out loud,
“Damn this is good!”.
The egg sandwich retails at £8 and there are other kinds to choose from.The price does seem a bit steep but compared to another bespoke chocolate company it was cheaper.
