I’m crafty, who knew?

So Brian my net book was whisked off last thursday to be mended. So I’m totally reliant on my phone for keeping up with Twitter, Facebook and e-mails.It sucks.I knew I would miss it, and I could kick myself for being such a numpty in the first place.Any how, I have been busy getting to this crafting lark.I cannot say when I’ll have my Folksy shop up as of course poo for brains here didn’t print off the patterns I downloaded.I was warned the repairs to my netbook may loose some if not all my data. So I have learned this.1.When you take photos, upload them on-line or get them printed out straight away.Who’s going to see them on-line? 2.Write down pass words even if you got software that remembers it for you.3.Have a few unpublished blog posts as back up and even schedule a couple a week.4.Don’t eat breakfast cereal near your computer.
So what have I been making?
First up I made Caitlin a hair band.I used small fabric yoyo’s, some reversed as the basis (backed with felt after buttons and beads were added) then I used a thin ribbon to tie it behind her hair line at the back of her neck.It was really easy to make and I’ll be playing around with this design.

I made my mum a bookmark.Using a wide ribbon, I had sewn buttons on an accent ribbon and sewn them together.I then added elastic. The ribbon slips over the front of the book cover and the elastic marks the page.
I have a big thing for buttons and I have also made a few bracelets using elastic.I think I could probably use a few beads in between the buttons.I did 3 before running out of big buttons.
My next project has been little Ellie.Caitlin saw her in Sew Hip! magazine and I agreed to make it for her. The craft shop didn’t have the colours suggested in the mag but she still looks cute.I’m now making one for Kip.Which means making one for Mia too.
So what do you think?
Once I have my netbook back I”lll get back to making felt food.I’ll be doing a give away and asking for someone to review my stuff once I’ve launched my Folksy shop. Please understand the some of the stuff I’m making at the mo’ is copyrighted.I’m there cannot sell them to you.I’m a goody too shoes. But if you would like me to make you something, in return you will put a post on your blog about it or perhaps sending me some craft items to help make it.I figured the more word of mouth that goes about hopefully good will put me in good steed for when I eventually get set up.Until next week and I won’t be sat here but using brian again
Have a good week

K- Thanks! I have now done 3, one each for the kids.
Denise- I like going around second hand shops for buttons and odd bits as I think I’ll add them to my Etsy/Folksy shop.Any tweeting of when it goes live would be great thanks.
Becky- I would love to do that.I’ll get back to you with an idea.I have something in mind.
Annie-I’m so glad you liked my gift. The book I read after buying it 2nd hand last year, and a hand made book mark seemed an ideal compliment.

congratulations on finding out you’re crafty.

I just wanted to let you know that my secret post parcel arrived this morning. Thank you!! If you only knew how many times I’ve picked this book up and put it back down again. And I LOVE the bookmark. My 4 year old has a penchant for bookmarks, and being an avid reader with a book lying around at all times, my bookmarks vanish into thin air. This one certainly won’t.. It’s brilliant. Thank you
